Company

Built for the crew. Not the house.

Build-A-Bookie turns the games you already play (golf, bowling, pickup) into a book: odds, bets, standings, and a record you can brag about. Virtual currency only. Permanent pride.

Why we exist

Every group already has a bookie: someone keeping a note in Messages, a spreadsheet that dies by week three, a whiteboard that gets wiped. We built the product that should have existed for that person: a real book with real settlement math, without turning friendship into a casino.

Built in North Carolina. Built for friends. Virtual currency only. No real-money wagering.

What a Book is

A Book is your crew's season: events (rounds, nights, games), open bets, scores, and standings. Stats are the asset. The bet is the engine. The receipt is the hook.

  • Clubhouse: home base for schedule, standings, what's next
  • Live: the event you can act on now. Place picks, enter scores
  • Log: the record. Settled history, money flow, rivalry

Website and app, one Firebase

Same product. Two surfaces. We don't run a separate "marketing site" that never touches the data.

  • Website: laptop work. Commissioner desk: create leagues, paste big rosters, schedule, season tools, invite, public boards. Heavy setup belongs here.
  • App: phone work. Place bets, enter scores, day-of play. Quick loops stay in your pocket.

Both talk to one Firebase project. Craft a book on the desk; friends bet on their phones. Open the desk when you're at a keyboard.

Principles

  • No real money. Balances are pride, rank, and net. Never cash, never payouts. Why we drew that line.
  • Friends first. Invite-only books by default. Your league, your roster, your drama.
  • Stats that stick. Settlement ties to real event stats so the record compounds into career and Star.
  • Operators get a desk. Courses and alleys with 150 names should not fight a phone keyboard.

Who it's for

Weekend foursomes. Thursday night leagues. Pickup runs that somehow have a commissioner. Anyone who wants the vibes of a sportsbook without the house taking a cut, because there is no house, and there is no cash.
