1. Overview
Build-A-Bookie ("we") provides a website (including the commissioner desk at build-a-bookie.com) and a mobile app that share the same account and books. This policy explains how we handle personal data when you use those surfaces.
2. Data we collect
Account
Email address, display name / username, sign-in identifiers from our authentication provider, and profile fields you choose to set.
Book activity
Books you create or join, roster names, invites, events, bets, placements, scores, standings-related fields, and role flags (e.g. admin, claimed roster spot).
Technical
Device and app diagnostics via platform defaults; website session cookies used to keep you signed into the desk; IP and request metadata as processed by our hosting providers.
Contact
If you write via Contact, we receive the name, email, topic, and message you submit.
3. How we use data
- Operate Books, settlement, standings, and invites
- Authenticate website desk and app sessions
- Improve reliability and prevent abuse
- Respond to support and press requests
- Comply with law when required
We do not sell personal data. We do not use your Book activity to run real-money gambling products.
4. Service providers
We use trusted cloud providers to run the product: account sign-in, data storage, background processing, and website hosting. Email delivery for Contact and book invites may use a provider such as Resend when configured. Each provider acts under their terms and our instructions.
7. Retention
We keep account and Book data while your account is active and as needed to operate the product. You can delete your account and associated data anytime from the mobile app (Edit profile) or the website desk (Profile → Delete account). Some records may remain in backups for a limited period or where we must retain them for legal reasons.
8. Children
The product is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to object to certain processing. Use Delete account in the app or on the desk, or email vdurham@durhamappdesigns.com and we will respond as required by applicable law.
10. Security
We use industry-standard provider controls (encrypted connections, access rules, secure session cookies). No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date on this page will change when we do. Continued use means you acknowledge the updated policy.
